With a first glance at this book, the cover gives me the sense that this book will be right up my alley, since anything with a crown and a dark sense of royal political intrigue really makes me happy.
The two characters we get to know from the excerpt are interesting and mysterious. It's not often one of the supernatural characters is an 8 year old boy, and the first scene sets this novel off for success. Legrand could not have chosen a better opening chapter. I read this excerpt from beginning to end (instead of sleeping) and I am so excited to read more.
