To start with, that has to be one of the most stunning covers to have been revealed in a long time, accompanying the powerful and bold title 'Furyborn'. This has been one of the most anticipated books for a while now, and to get a brief look at it was quite a treat. The story opens with the birth of a princess, who an 8 year-old boy named Simon, must try and escape with, and it is full of vivid imagery and and excitement right away.
Upon reading a mere 41 pages, I can tell that there is extensive and detailed 'world-building', which promises readers a whole universe to fall into when they start reading this book, and this is exactly what you hope for when reading a fantasy (the first book in a trilogy) like this. We are introduced to two timelines in this excerpt so it already looks like it will be an exciting and complex read, just from that standpoint!
I'm so excited from the 'First Impression' about the book, and absolutely can't wait to read more; it seems that Claire LeGrand has written an epic start to an exciting fantasy series about two queens, centuries apart. I'd be thrilled to accept a copy of my own.
