The story sweeps you up and carries you into another time. A time of pungent smells and bright colours, of riches and poverty and of violence and intrigue. The need to fight for survival even when to do so goes against everything that feels right. As the story unfolds you find yourself sharing the strong feelings of the protagonist as she fights with her conscience between survival and justice. The small sample that I read left me craving more. I loved the cover too, it instantly connects you with a period piece, giving you an insight to what is on offer between the pages.
