Kate Swenson's memoir is phenomenal and she is a fantastic writer in her own right. This book made me cry, laugh, and feel so incredibly hopeful. This book will be important to mothers of special needs children. It's an honest portrayal of a mother's struggle and a lot of readers will relate to her anxiety of her son's public meltdowns and her own isolation when it comes to friends and family who don't understand the difficulty she does through in the day to day when you feel all alone.

I found this book to be raw and beautifully written and will be an important reminder to parents of special needs children that you are not alone and not to let the hard days win. This book is also perfect for those family members, educators, or friends wishing to understand a subject they know little about. You do not have to live it to understand it.
