Forever Boy is the story of the idyllic beginning of Kate Swenson's marriage up until her miscarriage and the traumatic birth of her son, who was later diagnosed with autism. I found the writing to be unfortunately self-involved, as Kate writes that the story is more about how she found herself as a mother and describes her obsession with becoming pregnant and passive aggressive digs at her husband.

The jacket cover makes this seem like a self-help book, though it is not. Overall, I felt like this story had a really interesting premise but was a little self indulgent.
