"That would not
happen to us", if you have a child with, or suspected
autism, chances are you've thought this phrase at one
point in your life, and then, "why us? why my child?"
And we will never know. The truth is that having a
child with special needs is challenging, isolating,
time consuming, etc. I am not yet in a place where I
can call it a blessing like the author implies,
I wish my chid was spared the suffering that inevitably
comes by being neurodivergent in a world made for
neurotypicals. This book, from what I read, reads like a
beautiful love story, one I am not yet ready for.
