Upon seeing the title of this book, I was immediately nervous about the ableism this book would perpetuate, and reading the introduction didn't do too much to soothe my nerves. Even just the title, "Forever boy," is ableist and infantilizing to people with disabilities.

At the very least, at the end of the chapter, she does talk about how her son's autism is an integral part of him and that it isn't something that can just be removed.
