I cannot say enough about how much I LOVE "Firekeeper's Daughter." Not only was the book filled with characters that I genuinely cared about and a plot line that was intriguing and made me keep turning pages, but I learned SO much! Daunis, the story's main character, straddles life as a biracial, unenrolled tribal member. Her balancing of culture and society is fascinating and makes for a wonderful, eye-opening read.
I have been fortunate to both read the book and listen the audiobook. They are both fantastic. The audiobook was especially helpful as I did not know how to properly pronounce many of the words so I learned a lot just from listening.
