So many different unique elements that go together great!
Firekeeper's Daughter has so many unique elements and you would think they don't all work together but they do. There's a murder mystery, detective/investigation, MC who loves STEM and Hockey and is a biracial, unenrolled tribal member, the setting is Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, on the border of the United States and Canada, there are twists and you're constantly wondering whodunit.
You'll definitely want to listen to the audiobook because this book is packed with culture, history, and the language of the tribe
I was sucked into the story, loved the characters Daunis and Jamie, and was surprised multiple times with the mystery twists and turns. I also loved how Daunis used her STEM knowledge in the investigation she gets pulled into. We don't often get to see that side of criminal investigations so that was really unique.
