Daunis is such an amazing character, and through her narration we can further unpack her life story and emotions. Even though I usually don't enjoy romance, the spark between Daunis and Jamie was very well done, and I applaud Angeline Boulley for that. The mystery kept me guessing for many pages and once the secret had been revealed I audibly gasped. Overall I think that this book is such a new gem, and if you were contemplating buying this on release day, get out those wallets my friends! Let's also not forget one amazing aspect that I almost glossed over: that cover! Moses Lunham's incredible artwork captures not only the feel of the story, but the ease that it takes to read it. This cover invites you to a story of slow mayhem and smart characters, and delivers just that for the reader. This is one of the best debut novels I've ever read, and I'll definitely be picking up more of Boulley's work in the future!
