These two quotes have stuck with me from this book 😂. Firekeeper’s Daughter is both poignant and hilarious. It covers a range of topics worthy of discussion from cultural identity to choosing your path in life. I loved every second of this book and laughed/cried through all of it.
Daunis is a great character! I loved her wit and her strength. She the kind of girl you want to be best friends with. I wanted to sit down and burn cds with her. YES BURN CDS. This book is set in the early 2000’s and I got such a kick out of the time references. Example: not having enough minutes on your phone. The struggle.
I couldn’t stop listening to this book. I wanted to solve the mystery and stick with Daunis until she chose her path. Where she would go to college, what she would study, all of it. Hockey is the only sport I can watch, so I enjoyed the sports aspect as well.
I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook of Firekeeper’s Daughter. The narrator does and amazing job becoming Daunis. There is also a lot of Native language, and I really enjoyed hearing it. I think I got more from listening to this one than I would have of I read it. Thank you so much to LibroFM for my copy!
