This was a slow to start book but once a murder happens, the book takes off. This book takes places in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Daunis is an 18 year old high school graduate who’s in the middle of dealing with her uncle’s death, her grandma’s stroke, and trying to figure out who she is. She witnesses her best friend’s murder and the story only starts there. Jamie is the new kid in town and instantly connects with Daunis and they form a friendship. The story progresses as kids die from meth overdoses and trying to figure out who’s behind the dealings. Daunis is pulled into the investigation in a way she didn’t quite foresee. This book is full with drama, high intensity scenes and a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend this. I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want the story to end!
