A Great Read
I wanted to read Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley since I saw the stunning cover and I picked it up mainly because of the cover. I requested the book from bookishfirst with some of my points and was over the moon to find out we got a finished and stunning copy!
The novel follows Daunis Fontaine, an 18-year-old girl, Ojibwe teenager who becomes an informant for the FBI. I loved the mystery/investigation elements of the story with the mix of contemporary young adult fiction.
My favorite aspect is that I learned a lot about Native American culture. Young Adult fiction recently has become a great place for the young and the old (aka me) to learn about different cultures from our own.
I will be looking for more titles by Angeline Boulley in the future!
Thank you bookishfirst and publisher for the chance to read and review this title!
