Firekeeper's Daughter is the story of Daunis, a half-native, half-white high school grad who ends up heavily involved in a series of drug-related crimes and deaths in her town. Daunis goes undercover with the new boy at school, Jamie, who turns out to be an FBI field agent. The story has so many twists and turns and a great deal of lessons along the way.

There are moments when Daunis and Jamie read as a little unbelievable to me, but I was really rooting for them by the end of the book. This novel was suspenseful, culturally rich, and definitely entertaining. There were so many plot twists I didn't even know what to do with myself.
I think this book sends a super important message to young girls about trusting in yourself and not getting lost in other people to please them. I think this novel will really be helpful to girls young and old. This was an exciting and impactful read, and I'd strongly recommend it to women of all ages.
