Stunning, Necessary, and Diverse Debut

I love own voices books because they stay true to a culture or a group of people that we need to hear more about. So many times I've seen my culture or another done a disservice because they're written by a person who has no idea of the nuances, the difficulties, and intricacies of coming from a certain country/culture/religion/etc. so when I see an own voices book, I automatically get excited. But to see one that is so fantastically written? Wow. I read the first impression and I'm already hooked. I love that this isn't the type of book you can box into one thing. It's a thriller, a mystery, a contemporary, a young adult novel, and so much more and I think that's just amazing. I really can't wait for this book's release.
