Well we certainly begin with an action scene! I hope that comes up later in the novel and we find out what happened! In the meantime, we go back to a normal day in the life of an Ojibwe girl, praying and running, giving us a front row seat to the environment she lives in. As we go farther into Daunis' day and life, we get to know her snarky attitude and charm amidst the family background and tragedy that they are going through. This novel seems steeped in Ojibwe culture and language and will undoubtedly be a valuable reading experience.
