I have not read a single book with native american culture, this is a first. I really enjoy how prominent the culture and traditions are in the day to day of this family. It is a great learning exlerience for me and brings a beauty to the "thiller/mystery" genre of the book.
I also love the fragmented and direct writing style of the book. It does not take away from the cultural importance throughout and makes it easier for the reader.
