Daunis is a young adult that so many of us can identify with in one way or another. She is straddling the line between adult and child, family obligation and independence, and the divide between the two cultures that make up who she is. While I will say, the native words are somewhat difficult to follow and to incorporate into my reading flow, they do illustrate how Daunis is supposed to flow back and forth between her two worlds. Very excited to see how this story turns out.
