Ever since I first glimpsed the strikingly beautiful cover of this novel I've been eager to read it. The excerpt read only has me more excited. An intense intro sets a scene that's sure to enrapt other readers just as swiftly as it did me. First nations don't get nearly enough representation in YA and this refreshing take doesn't fall into gross caricatures. With rich friendship and intricate familial dynamics set up right away readers are sure to have favorites right away.
