Daunis Fontaine has never fit in, being a biracial, unenrolled tribal member and a part of scandal doesn't make life simple. She wants to study medicine, but she puts her dreams on pause in order to help her mother. While caring for her mother she meets Jamie, but falling for him doesn't halt her suspicious that he is hiding something. A sudden murder and criminal investigation force her into action using her studies and knowledge to investigate, but lies and deaths grow closer to home she will have to learn to protect her community.

This sounds like a really interesting contemporary YA thriller that presents meaningful opportunities for reflection on culture, race, and identity. I really like the cover and think it reflects the themes and cultures represented in a contemporary way.
