The synopsis, as well as the author's bio, create an expectation of excellence. Unfortunately, the book reads like a bland, rushed summary of all the information the author has gathered rather than reading like a story. The author does far too much telling and very minimal showing. Even in the nonfiction genre, world-building and character development are important. A reader expects to experience the story and needs to connect with the dialogue. I found the writing to be dull and incredibly disappointing.
