Harrowing first person view of the tragedies in the takeover of Mosul

I remember following the news from the United States when the attacks on Mosul began, but that is nothing like the firsthand view experienced by Hakam and his family. I worry about what will happen to them in the upcoming chapters. I also am not too familiar with the true story of the zoo so I am really hoping that it ends well because I will be so upset if the animals have to suffer, as well. Abu Laith seems like a great, compassionate man. I truly hope he achieves his dream of running a successful zoo with happy, healthy animals. I look forward to reading the rest even though it may be heartbreaking, it is a story that deserves to be heard.
