I love the way you jump right into this book but don’t find out what the drama is over right away. It definitely caught my attention and I blew through the first pages in minutes eager to keep reading to uncover all of Ella and Hayley’s stories. The writing style seemed very authentic and easily took me back to my teenage years remember how deceptively nice and also forwardly cruel high schoolers can be. I’ll be very interested to see where this story goes and if Ella can learn to forgive herself or if the pressure she’s under this year means she’ll join Hayley after all. I also really enjoyed the use of Tagalog words and look forward to seeing more of this throughout the rest of the book. It’s always exciting to read books with a different cultural background than your own to learn different people’s experiences that can be applied to being culturally competent in every day life
