The writing in this book is interesting. You can see that with the imagery of the first sentence. Right off the bat you can see the type of person the main character is and she is relatable and funny. You can see the toll of losing someone can affect you and the people around you. It can be really heard to lose someone especially if that person is your best friend. It also sucks when the person close to you dies and you were essentially the main cause of it. You can already see a lot of the guilt the main character has from losing her best friend and how other people close to her friend feels about it just by the first two chapters. This book reminds me a lot of If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin so far. In Laura’s book, the two main characters are childhood friends who never told each other their secrets before it was too late. Based on this books title, Everything We Never Said, it makes me think there was a secret never said before it was too late. I think that in both books if things happened differently, the outcome of both books wouldn’t happen.
