I think this is not an uncommon genre: people drawn closer together after the death or disappearance of a loved one (definitely saw it in the movie A Simple Favor with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively). But this rendition truly makes it into something new. Ella and Sawyer are drawn together after Hayley's death. The descriptions of each character and the setting really brought the story to life. It certainly made it compelling and drew me in. Ella is a very realistic and relatable character (the mark of a great author). I couldn't stop reading and finished the book enitrely in one setting. The synopsis promised a dark, romantic thriller and this story definitely delivered.
