The striking cover art would make me stop if I saw the novel on the shelves. The book starts out strongly, with good characterization of the main character Ella. Her pain comes through and I definitely want to find out more of what happens next. The book is a little transparent, pointing to a conclusion similar to novels I have read before, but I like the writing style and characterization.
