The first two pages sealed the deal for me on this book. The way the author can describe the feelings of emptiness, sadness and depression in Ella from the first person is very impressive, not to mention this is her debut novel! I would have never guessed that from the first two chapters; her writing style is gorgeous and I am begging for more!
The cover also brought me into this book. I like the way the cover is designed, and it just makes sense with the story.
Also, I like how the author told us what happened in the incident that killed Hayley in the second chapter, rather than having to make the reader wait extreme lengths for a vital detail like that.
