This sample was good—not many YA books these days hold my attention, but I felt the emotions in this one. But I’m not sure I’d read much further. It feels like this premise has been done over and over lately. And I don’t know what’s going on with the major publishers lately, but a lot of their cover art (for YA in particular) feels so amateurish. Authors who make it to this point deserve better.
