This was an amazing first look at a self-help book that offers incredible insight without sounding preachy. In “Elevate”, readers will find profoundly simple suggestions such as opening one’s mind to different perspectives in order to grow and learn and to understand that we all operate with biases and predjudices that obviously limit our happiness and development. I loved all of the quotes throughout used to summarize concepts such as “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” I, personally, am ready and have been eagerly awaiting a guide such as this. One of my favorite concepts offered was changing frustration into fascination. I find this simple paradigm shift to be so useful in my life and am almost looking forward to frustration so I can learn and grow from it! As quoted by Rumi at the onset of the book, “Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” This book is an essential reference for wisdom.
