What I immediately loved about this book was the author's voice. He truly sounds like a man fascinated by the things he's learned and I feel the drive in him to share all he's learned with the reader. He cares. And I don't feel like he's just trying to sell me something like I often do with "self-help" books. The foreward however, especially being written by a previous girlfriend, feels biased and like she's trying to sell me on her friend's book even when I've already picked it up. I honestly think it's irrelevant and should be scrapped, or at least replaced with a foreward from someone without such direct personal ties to the author. That said, it won't stop me from reading everything the author has to say, because I'm captivated by his fresh, real voice.
