Amanda Palmer is an artistic genius and I respect her immensely, so when I saw her give a huge bow to this book in his eight-thousand-million pages of accolades prefacing this first impression, I was stunned. Wonderful, I thought. If she liked this, I'll love this.

Unfortunately that did not prove to be the case. Though I'm sure the author spent many years garnering and sampling the best of ethics, insights, philosophy, Eastern and Western religion, this first impressionwas just a lot of tropes and cliches, which aren’t bad—cliches are cliche because they’re true, I just didn’t get a slice of what made these insights any different from any others I’ve read. If this is someone’s first Self Help or first Philosophy of Life book, it might go over very well.
