What I love about Jane Tennison stories is that she is a female lead that is awesome. She is clever, and always solve the mystery using her intuition combined with evidence that she tries to find - in places where her male counterparts would not even think about to go look for anything. In this book, she is the first female to join the Flying Squad. And even though she faced some resistance in the beginning, her actions while trying to solve a crime make her accepted to the group. The Dirty Dozen became a group of thirteen people with Jane as one of their newest members. I like how the book unveils one step at a time, without any rush at all, and little by little the crime is solved and Jane saves the day.
