To begin, the book has a very simple, boring cover. If I were at a bookstore, I wouldn't pick this one up to even read the summary, so I think that the book is already off on the wrong foot. This may be an interesting enough story, but it's very hard to read. From the start there is a lot of police jargon, and it makes it hard to get into the story. From what I understand of the theme of the book, it seems overdone - "kick-butt girl joins boys club police force." For me, it just didn't hold my interest, but I'm sure it's a great book for someone else!
