As you can see, this overly wordy sentence is not engaging, and the prose continues verbosely throughout the first chapter.
The plot unfolds as we are introduced to Jane Tennison first experience as a detective in the “Flying Squad.” I could easily visualize the chase scene, so I am sort of interested to see what happens in the book. Maybe there will be unexpected plot twists and character development? I hope so.
