In the First Impression reading, Jane Tennison has been assigned to a new group of detectives called the Flying Squad. She scarcely has time to enter their building when she meets them going down the stairs and out the door very hurriedly, encouraging her to join them in their pursuit of potential bank robbers. Once in the car, Jane is in for the ride of her life, clinging tightly as the police car swerves around obstacles and rushes to the scene. Hearing shots over the radio as a uniformed officer is fired upon, the men in Jane’s car continue to rush towards the melee. This is the promising first look at this new Jane Tennison book. Since I have read the other Tennison books, I am a real fan of this unorthodox and highly intelligent young detective and I can’t wait to read about her new adventure. It certainly starts with a bang and I am looking forward to the rest of the ride!
