I had a hard time with the excerpt. In fact, I didn't finish it. It felt like the author was trying way too hard, with lots of over-the-top prose. Descriptions of the nurse came across as offensive. I'm an editor, and this book could benefit from some editorial services, as it is way too wordy. I've seen better covers on books my former students would draw. Just not impressed with this one. I do enjoy mysteries, but I have no desire to find out whodunnit in this story.
