This book/writing is a bit bizarre, and I'm not entirely sure if that's a good or bad thing with this sort of excerpt. I got fed up pretty quickly with the (old) male-gazey descriptions of young women - I swear, my patience for old male "literary" writers grows thinner and thinner. So, I probably won't pick this up, just because I have far too many other books I'm more excited about reading.
