It appeals to me more than I expected it to

First of all, the cover is absolutely awful. It’s probably supposed to be funny in an effort to represent this “darkly comic novel,” and perhaps it will succeed in attracting those who are thinking, “What the heck is this?” (Although “heck” probably won’t be their word of choice). But I don’t know. As far as marketing goes, I think it’s a bad idea.

The cover turned me off immediately and the premise sounded just okay. So I didn’t go in with high expectations.

But, honestly, the writing is quite good and the opening is catchy. I’m surprised that I have an interest in this, but here we are.
