The cover reminds me of an old Penguin classic book if that's what they're looking for. It does not really make me want to pick the book up.
The writing is hard to get used to at first, especially with the giant wall of texts. However, as the book progresses, the chapters get shorter, and they are more interesting to read, making me want to know the rest of this story of this historian.
