Growing up I felt that a lot of my education was focused on learning and memorizing the names of white colonizers who “achieved great things”. Then later I came to realize they were all kinda terrible. This book appealed to me immediately in that it promises to actually “deflate the legend of the heroic white, male explorer”. Just in the first impression we already see this start with the delightful comedic narration of our mc. I found myself intrigued right from the prologue and giggling at the saterical wry tone of everything. I’m definitely interested in seeing where the rest of the story takes me
