I’ll admit, it took me a while to get into this book. But I believe that was more my fault, due to the fact that this was the first book I’d picked up after being in a two month reading slump and I forgot that each new fantasy book is a new world and I don’t think I was initially ready for this one at first. But over a few weeks just reading 20ish pages at a time I began to fall in love with this book and its world. And boy am I glad I chose this book because it 100% got me out of my reading slump. For me, the book started off slow/moderately paced and then sped up about mid way. Our main characters are Darling- a fearless fighter whose mission is to get her adoptive father back from their enemies- and Talon- war prince, whose older brother has gone insane and keeps drawing the same girl over and over…the girl with “no eyes”- when these two meet, their worlds collide and nothing will every be the same. But they learn that they may need each other to get through what comes next. This book is EVERYTHING…we’ve got my personal two favorite tropes, enemies to lovers 🤭 and “I was sent here to kill you” 😆!! Trust me you’ll love this book!!
