The writing was a little contrived and jumped from one character to another. It almost seemed like parts of the story were skipped. I could not easily understand the story the author was trying to tell. Additionally the flow seemed very choppy. I tried to get into the story and could not. The writing also seemed rather immature and undeveloped. I appreciate that the authors were trying to take a novel approach by having two authors work on one book but it seems as though the two may have had different ideas and directions and did not work through them. The font itself was easy enough to read and I felt it kind of went with the fantasy feeling the book implied. I do not personally see myself seeking this book out though because of the aforementioned muddiness in the plot. Who are these clans and why were they not introduced sooner? Why are they drawing and painting and what power does this have? Not knowing this kind of information made it very hard to get invested.
