This book is just... good. While I did enjoy this very much, I have to say the downside and why I couldn't give a 4.5 or a 5 star is because of the pacing; it felt like everything was moving too quickly and I wished we spent more time with the other Houses. Along with Talon's and Darling's travels.

My other gripe with it, is that I really can't stand insta-love, especially when it's an enemies to lovers. Seeing how there's going to be another book, I wish the enemy part lasted a bit longer, closer to the end maybe.

As for the characters, I can't say that I really loved the two POVs: Talon and Darling. I pretty meh about them; I don't know how to word it. I didn't hate, didn't love, just liked them okay. From reading the prologue I thought we were going to get the POV of the wild scion, better known as Caspian, maybe in the next book? I have to say that I love him so much, especially because of that prologue.

There were times that I had to put this down because my heart was racing too fast to see what's going to happened next. The ending though....yeah I can't wait to read the next book. Hopefully we learn more about boons.
