Chaos & Flame by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland is a fantastic new entry into the world of YA adventure. I knew immediately when I read the summary that this book would be right up my alley. It truly has it all- high stakes, complex worldbuilding and social structures, interesting characters, political intrigue, and romance to top it all off! I mean who wouldn't love that???
The book starts out a little slow just to give the reader time to acclimate to the setting and characters, then takes off at a breakneck pace. I really hated it every time I had to put the book down to do something else, because I just wanted to find out what was goig to happen next! I do wish there had been more of a focus on the magic and houses instead of so much on the main romance (and that the romance had been more of a slow burn), but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Overall, a fun read!
