Wow! Fifty-four pages for an excerpt and I didn't get anywhere. So many characters and not all of them had names. I found that to be distracting inasmuch as it was hard to distinguish one from the other. It got slightly better when Adelaide and Darling were introduced, but I could not get hooked on the narrative.

I'm sure there are a lot of readers that will enjoy this novel, but unfortunately I'm not one of them.
