The cover art is beautiful showing a hint of danger it holds between its pages. Action starts off from page one beginning with the scion drawing images from their dreams (boons) which warn of upcoming war. Heeding the warnings from his mother the child hides his boons choosing to not disclose the visions of doom. Boons once prophetic have a history of driving the seer crazy over time. We see a hint of this once the childs mother is murdered and he blames himself for not revealing his visions. Soon we discover his paintings hold secrets of their own in the details.
The story is extremely fast paced throwing the reader into a world of Chaos bloodshed and war within a matter of a few pages. I find the pace a bit fast but an excellent set up for a page turner. The first impression left me wanting more
