There is a lot of deep, detailed world- and mythology-building in this generous excerpt of Chaos & Flame. With two powerhouse authors teaming up to co-write, I have no doubt that this opening installment in a planned duology will be well-worth reading in its entirety. The First Look gave me some Game of Thrones vibes as well as reminders of standout series by Jessica Cluess, Rachel Hartman, and Julie Kagawa. Bring on the dragons, the feuding houses, and the star-crossed lovers!
