Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this book. It took me over a month to get through, which is longer than usual for me. The main female character, Anna, seemed to be making the same mistakes over and over and doesn't care about her friend, Larry's situation. In addition, her "voice" just seemed to bother me. Anna seemed like a shallow character and only seems to care about herself and earning her tenured position. She should be focusing on caring for her father and the book she is writing but is instead distracted by Rick, the man she is dating. While receiving a rejection letter from a publishing company is disheartening, this facet of the novel seemed unimportant. However, I was not surprised at how the book ended, with the main characters, Anna and Adam happy and together.
