Loved this entertaining novel based on Persuasion! For every lit major, English teacher, or just plain book lover, this is a look into the life of Professor Anne Corey and her battle for love and tenure at fictional Fairfax in Southern California. As she attempts to get her book published to ensure her ongoing employment, she discovers her ex-fiance has just become her new boss as President of the university.
The prose is a mix of first person as well as emails to and from various characters. Add to the mix a handsome and charming best-selling author who begins wooing Anne, her quirky and lovable gay colleague, Larry, and you have the recipe for fun, humor, romance, and literary criticism. This was a great read all the way through!
