I am always very wary of any kind of retellings of any of Jane Austen’s novels. This has a very interesting plot and th modern setting has a lot of potential. I feel like a lot of people will go into this book expecting Jane Austen’s writing which is not the case at all, be forewarned in advance. The main character seems a little chaotic and eccentric like many of Austen’s protagonists so I enjoyed that. Anne seems like a great character that I would enjoy getting to know and maybe even have a coffee with. I really liked the length of this excerpt. It gave you just enough to get a feel for the characters. I hope to see what happens with the rest of the plot and to see the rest of the character development.
